The launch of Wiltshire Police's first Knife Crime Strategy marks an important step in our collective efforts to prevent violence and keep communities safe.
Adopting a public health approach, the strategy recognises that knife crime cannot be tackled by policing alone. Success depends on strong partnerships, early intervention and a shared commitment to addressing the factors that can lead to violence.
Through the Serious Violence Duty, the OPCC has helped bring together partners from across policing, health, education, local government, youth justice, probation, fire and rescue services, and the voluntary sector to develop a coordinated response to serious violence.
This strategy builds on that foundation, setting out how partners will work together over the next three years to reduce knife enabled violence, support those at risk and make Wiltshire and Swindon safer for everyone.
